Committees ยป Social Action

Committee meetings are held as needed depending on current projects.
Our on-going projects include:

  • Working with our adopted Jewish community in Pskov, Russia
You can help celebrate 2 B'nai Mitzvah to take place in Pskov this Summer!
For the first time in over half a century, the Pskov Jewish community will celebrate both a Bar and Bat Mitzvah!  We are very happy and proud to have contributed to the Pskov Community, our sister city in Russia, in helping to make this event place.

The Social Action Committee is providing gifts of Judaica items such as Tallitot and Kippot to the celebrants.  We are collecting funds to include small personal gifts, such as cameras, to record the events.  Any contributions to this special project will be greatly appreciated.  Donors will be recognized in a greeting letter to the celebrants.

Donations can be sent to the Kol Emeth Social Action Fund, earmarked  for Pskov.

  • The Goat Project, Donating goats to an orphanage in Kenya.

To find out more about these and other projects, or to submit projects, please contact either Betty Fellows, committee member and Kol Emeth staff at betty@kolemeth.org or Ruthann Richter Hammer, Social Action Committee Chair at richter1@stanford.edu.
