Committees ยป Library
The Kol Emeth library sparkles with new cabinets, fresh
paint, and reorganized stacks, featuring a multimedia special collection, the
Miriam J. Ferziger Judaic Performing Arts Collection, devoted to the performing
arts. We have DVDs and VHS tapes of your
favorite Jewish theme movies plus CDs of Jewish Music. Do you want your kids to see the classic
movie Exodus about the founding of modern Israel? The popular musical Fiddler on the Roof? Our library has those DVDs, among many
others.
Books on biblical studies and commentary are now in the small sanctuary. Our
materials have been organized using a system specifically developed for
collections of Judaica. The numbering
system and subjects are posted on the bulletin board to the left of the library
door. The computerized collection
catalog makes it easier than ever to find items. Our library database can be accessed from the
two computers in the library and from the comfort of your home
computer. The URL is: http://www.kolemeth.org/cgi/libsearch.cgi You can search for a particular author, book
title, DVD title, etc. It is similar to
searching the public libraries on line.
The Library is available for your use any time the office is open including during school hours. The Library is currently staffed on Thursdays from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. We need additional volunteers in order to expand the hours and services. Do contact us at library@kolemeth.org. We'll teach you all you need to know. Books can be taken out of the library at any time the office is open. Just ask someone in the office to open the library door, find what you want, and follow the sign-out procedure on the left side of the back desk.
Come and see what we have done with your library at Kol Emeth, and let us know what you'd like to see added to the library collection and how you'd like to get involved.
